And during the Autumn months, you’ll often find seasonal specials at some of the restaurants and bars. Shadowbrook announces their special holiday menu and event schedule, and Mijo’s Tacos has recently brought back their pozole, a warm traditional Mexican soup perfect for chilly fall days.

Go Shopping for Sweater Weather

Although the weather is still pretty warm in October, things start getting chilly in later October - early November so you better be ready with some warm accessories. Starting in early October many of the Capitola Village shops start showcasing their Fall items. Pick up a cozy sweater from Kickback, Yvonne’s, Jade Allen Boutique, Mia Bella Boutique and more. Visit Pumpkin Patches Nearby

There are plenty of pumpkin patches in Capitola to satisfy your pumpkin needs. Capitola Village Produce Market is the closest patch, just across the street from Gayle’s Bakery! Partake in a Halloween Parade

Ghosts, goblins, boys and ghouls...join us for the annual Capitola Village Halloween Parade! Line up begins at 1:30pm in the Beach & Village Parking Lot above Capitola City Hall off Capitola Avenue. Parade begins promptly at 2pm. Parade will head down Capitola Avenue, wind through Capitola Village to the Esplanade ending at Esplanade Park, where trick-or-treat bags, balloons, and refreshments will be waiting. New Leaf Community Market will be there with treats! Trick-or-treating at Capitola Village shops following parade.

Get Inspired at Capitola Plein Air

  Every Fall, 40 professional artists arrive in Capitola to paint the town for Capitola Plein Air. This year marks the 4th Annual Capitola Plein Air Event! Artist set up their easels on the Capitola Wharf, Capitola Beach, and the streets of our beautiful town, to paint live for three days. You’ll find hundreds of paintings on display, for sale, and entered into competition on Sunday, November 4th, when you can take home a piece of Capitola culture, vote for your favorites for the People’s Choice Award, have a delicious meal from the food truck, or be inspired and make some art yourself!   Plan your Fall getaway  to Capitola Village, you won’t regret it!
