Participants are treated to beachfront and bluff views of the Monterey Bay along the majestic Santa Cruz County coastline. You travel the Surfer’s Path, passing many of the world’s most famous surf breaks. There is plenty of surf music and celebration at the finish area located in the heart of Capitola Village. Capitola Village Easter Egg Hunt

Hop on down to Capitola Village for an Easter Egg Hunt on the beach! Kids 12 and under can hunt for candy-filled eggs hidden in the sand. The Easter Bunny will be there! Twilight Concerts

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM — The Art and Cultural Commission bring Wednesday Night Twilight Concerts to Capitola Village on the Esplanade Stage. Families and friends are encouraged to come down and enjoy an array of musical styles from jazz, western, latin, swing, orchestra to rock and roll. The bands will perform from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Bring a picnic dinner and chairs to sit on either in the park or on the beach while enjoying the music filled sunset. A blanket and warm jackets are always a good idea as the summer weather can bring the fog. Check back for Concert Schedules.

16th Annual Jay Moriarity Memorial Paddleboard Race

The 2017 Jay Race is an annual ocean paddleboard race in the beautiful waters of the Monterey Bay. This event is in memory of Santa Cruz Waterman Jay Moriarity. Paddle the 12 mile or 2 mile course. The Capitola Begonia Festival is held every Labor Day Weekend in Capitola, California. It features fun activities for the whole family:, a Sand Sculpture contest, a Fishing Derby, Row Boat races, and a Nautical Parade of begonia-laden floats traveling down Soquel Creek and much more... Join in on Children's Art events, compete in the Horseshoes tournament, or decorate yourself with begonias! Watch as float builders rush to put the finishing touches on their parade entries. T9 Mermaid Triathlon & Duathlon Capitola

One of the best all women triathlons on the west coast. Capitola is the perfect venue offering an ocean swim around the wharf, views of the pacific, fun bike course featuring a gradual climb into the coastal redwoods, followed by a run on the ocean bluff overlooking the town.

Children's Halloween Parade

October 29

Parade begins at 2:00 PM Line-up at 1:30 PM in the Pacific Cove Parking Lot above Capitola Police Department and City Hall. Parade winds through Capitola Village and ends at Esplanade Park. Enjoy refreshments, entertainment, goody bags, balloons, and trick-or-treating at Village merchants. This free, family-friendly event is hosted by the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce. Capitola Plein Air

November 4 & 5

The best time to catch artists in action is Saturday, November 4th between 10 am and 2 pm, however, you may stumble upon artists as early as November 1 painting throughout the Village, including the Wharf, Depot Hill steps, and Esplanade.

The event culminates on Sunday, November 5, when the public is invited to view finished works, chat with artists, have fun doing hands on art activities, enjoy live music, and purchase your favorite artwork at the fine art sale.

Surfing Santa

November 25

12:00 Noon - 3:00 PM — Capitola Main Beach Surfing Santa arrives with his outrigger canoe and surfboard on the shores of Capitola Main Beach at 12 noon. Be sure to bring your camera to capture Santa's wave-riding arrival. Once Santa has toweled off, he'll settle in his beach chair to hear holiday wishes and have a nice long visit with all the children. This winter, locals and visitors can trade flip-flops for ice skates and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience at Santa Cruz County’s first eco-friendly synthetic ice rink. Located in Esplanade Park, in front of the stage and overlooking Capitola Beach and the Monterey Bay, the seaside ice rink will be open to the public December 15, 2017 through January 7, 2018.
