Easter Egg Hunt on the BeachApril 4, 2015

On the beach and lagoon in front of the Capitola Venetian Hotel.
Gather the kids, grab their baskets, and hop on down to Capitola Village for the annual Easter egg hunt! Children 12 and under can hunt for candy-filled eggs hidden in the sand. Area divided for children ages 5-under and ages 6-12. To ensure fun for everyone, we ask parents limit 3 eggs per child.
Bring your camera to capture a memorable spring day on the beach in Capitola! The Easter bunny will be there! This FREE family event happens rain or shine! Sunday Art and Music at the BeachSundays, June - August
Sunday Art and Music At The Beach is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a Sunday afternoon in Capitola Village. Live Music is featured on the Esplanade Stage and local artists display their work in Esplanade Park overlooking Capitola Beach and the Monterey Bay. 11:00am - 5:00pm

The Art and Cultural Commission bring Wednesday Night Twilight Concerts to Capitola Village on the Esplanade Stage. Families and friends are encouraged to come down and enjoy an array of musical styles from jazz, western, latin, swing, orchestra to rock and roll. The bands will perform from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Bring a picnic dinner and chairs to sit on either in the park or on the beach while enjoying the music filled sunset. A blanket and warm jackets are always a good idea as the summer weather can bring the fog.

Wharf to Wharf RaceJuly 26, 2015
A world class, scenic six-mile race with 35 or more live bands and throngs of festive spectators along the route. A race like no other!

63rd Annual Begonia FestivalSeptember 4 - September 7
The Capitola Begonia Festival is held every Labor Day Weekend in Capitola, California. It features fun activities for the whole family:, a Sand Sculpture contest, a Fishing Derby, Row Boat races, and a Nautical Parade of begonia-laden floats traveling down Soquel Creek and much more... Join in on Children's Art events, compete in the Horseshoes tournament, or decorate yourself with begonias! Watch as float builders rush to put the finishing touches on their parade entries. Or, really get involved and put together a team of family and friends to build your own float. You can watch a movie on the beach, or dance to the sounds of the band. All events are FREE to the public!

Mermaid Triathalon and DuathalonOctober 3, 2015
Capitola Main Beach
The City of Capitola welcomes the Mermaid! One of the best all women triathlons on the west coast. Capitola is the perfect venue offering an ocean swim around the wharf, views of the pacific, fun bike course featuring a gradual climb into the coastal redwoods, followed by a run on the ocean bluff overlooking the town.

Children's Halloween ParadeOctober 25
Parade begins at 2:00 PM
Line-up at 1:30 PM in the Pacific Cove Parking Lot above Capitola Police Department and City Hall. Parade winds through Capitola Village and ends at Esplanade Park.
Enjoy refreshments, entertainment, goody bags, balloons, and trick-or-treating at Village merchants. This free, family-friendly event is hosted by the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce.

Surfing SantaNovember 28, 2015

Capitola Main Beach
Surfing Santa arrives with his outrigger canoe and surfboard on the shores of Capitola Main Beach at 12 noon. Be sure to bring your camera to capture Santa's wave-riding arrival. Once Santa has toweled off, he'll settle in his beach chair to hear holiday wishes and have a nice long visit with all the children. The event is free and hosted by the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce.

Holiday Tree Lighting and Open HouseDecember TBA, Saturday
Join us as we ring in the season at the Capitola Village Holiday Tree Lighting and Open House.
Spend the afternoon shopping, dining, and enjoying the holiday magic of Capitola Village. It is easy to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list with so many unique shops and restaurants to choose from. Plus, Capitola Businesses will be giving away over $2500. worth of gift certificates to help you with your holiday shopping!
Complimentary face painting, cookie decorating (sponsored by Whole Foods), and kids crafts, as well as tasty bites, sweet treats, hot chocolate and cider from Paradise Beach Grille and Shadowbrook. Be sure to stroll through the Village to find your favorite window display and vote in our first Window Display Contest! Santa and the Christmas Fairy will be out and about to visit with children and hear holiday wishes.
The New Brighton Middle School Jazz Band will play and the Soquel High Jazz Singers will be performing in front of the Mercantile and leading carolers through the Village.
