Cafe Violette at 104 Stockton Ave. in Capitola Village has been under new ownership since July 2008. The Cafe has recently undergone a major remodeling project and has been transformed into a vibrant modern cafe in which to relax and grab a bite to eat. They still serve 48 flavors of the best Marianne's and Polar Bear Ice Cream and their house and espresso coffee is roasted by Pacific Espresso in Santa Cruz. They serve milkshakes, malts, smoothies, banana splits, sundaes and of course their famous dollar mini cone. The food menu is varied, family friendly and affordable. Many of the dishes and sauces are made in house from scratch, including the falafels and hummus. The burgers are huge and satisfying and long term cook Silvano's breakfast burritos are mouthwateringly good. Best of all is the All Day Breakfast menu which starts at 8am each morning. Other items are the popular gyros, paninis, philly cheese steak, fish and chips and various vegetarian choices including their delicious Veggie Western Burger and Portabella Pesto Panini. Their garlic fries are out of this world!
